About 2T1 Features!

William Nguyen, 2T1 Monograph Rep 2019-2020

What is the 2T1 Feature About?

The 2T1 Features revolves around interviewing selected students from the class of 2T1 by the respective Monograph Reps in first year (2017-2018) and second year (2018-2019) in collaboration with Pharmakon for the photos. The purpose of interviewing these students is provide a unique, first person insight on each student, their background info, hobbies, goals and aspirations, and fun questions.

How are students selected for the interview?

To ensure fairness, students currently in the Class of 2T1 are selected randomly for the next upcoming month and are contacted before to ensure that the selected students are willing to be interviewed by the 2T1 Monograph Rep. Not only does it ensure fairness, it ensures that more diverse voices are obtained from ordinary students and not simply from individuals close to the Monograph Rep or solely from the Class Council. Once the student agrees to being interviewed, they are provided with the option to have a photograph taken by the Pharmakon Rep or they can use their preferred photos, depending on their preferences. Most interviews have been done in person although it may be conducted online if needed. The in-person provides more insight, and more interactive interviews than online interviews. If the selected student declines to be interviewed, the next person is drawn randomly. Most months usually involve 1 student.

How does the interview work?

Each interview involves a series of questions. These question change from interview to interview to provide differing perspectives and range from background information, to fun questions. The interview is conducted in a 1 on 1 conversation and the length can vary, depending on the flow and choice of questions. The Monograph Rep then records the answers to each question. This can either be done via transcribing the contents of the interview or the interviewee self-submits the answer to the question after the interview. Do not worry, the interview is meant to be a natural conversation! The Monograph Rep can also participate in the conversation and pitch in his/her opinions as well. This ensures that the conversation is more natural, allows both the Monograph Rep and the interviewee to know each other more. A fun way to know each other with the formalities of an interview in a informal, conversational format!

Is it possible to have the Monograph Rep be selected to be interviewed?

Technically, this is possible! It would be hilarious but if this was the case, the same procedures follow. The Monograph Rep may decline to be interview themselves. The advantage is that you can choose which questions to ask yourself.
